The present article discusses Oswald de Andrade’s critical ideas included in his omnibus Ponta de lança (1945). I intend to identify the ways pointed out by the author for the development of literature and arts as a whole. The main goal is to demonstrate the importance that the artists’ political engagement plays on the Oswaldian critical thought. Thus I expect to contribute to the understanding of the Brazilian cultural production during the first half of the 20th century.References
