Based on Antonio Candido’s remarks in A nova narrativa, I try to contrast the reviewer´s concernings about the generation of the storytellers of the big cities and its human relations and Rubem Fonseca´s fiction, analysing Feliz ano novo. Taken three shortstories from this book, I try to explain how they reflect the contemporaneity, and also how the author uses violence not just as a representative recourse but as basis of the discourse.References
