Modernity, Women, FictionAbstract
In discussing the invention of the female in the process of modernity, we reflect on its literary representation in connection with the patriarchal society, especially in the nineteenth fiction and contemporary Portuguese narrative. We have identified and compared processes of some heroines like Emma Bovary, Luisa and Ludovina, Capitu, Helena Morley and Maria das Mercês. We also recorded in the discursive strategies of contemporary fiction of Teolinda Gersão and Ines Pedrosa, to better see if there we find characters very different from those produced by male authors.Downloads
