The article analyzes the work Tempo e Eternidade, by Jorge de Lima and Murilo Mendes, published in partnership in 1935. A careful analysis of the characterizing features of this work that define its religious foundation, focusing on poetic material, recurrent biblical images and mobilizations of the sacred, represented by the figure of the poet. For this, the theoretical approach uses the studies of Alter and Kermode, Eliade, Dufrenne, Durand, about the religious symbolism present in the human imagination.References
