Abstract

The concern about teacher development toward distance education demands has been constant in educational environment. In distance education we have to pay attention to the development of the sense of community among the people involved and to the sense of belonging. Without these feelings the community formation and also learning, as consequence, are at risk. However, studying online is not a premise for building an online community: other factors must to be considered. The present article aims at presenting some issues related to the theme of building virtual communities.
