Ao considerarmos a linguagem como sistema modelador, admitimos seu caráter de construtora de significados do mundo que nos cerca, e a ela atribuímos o papel de instrumento com o qual representamos o mundo. Sendo a linguagem a principal ferramenta na atividade jornalística, pretendemos analisar, por meio do Sistema da Transitividade, dentro da lingüística sistêmico-funcional, reportagens acerca da queda do Airbus 330 da companhia Air France, ocorrido em 1º de junho de 2009. Os textos provém de revistas brasileiras (Veja, IstoÉ) e portuguesas (Visão, Sábado), e servirão para analisarmos as diferenças de enfoque sobre um mesmo fato.
