Análise comparativa de venografia epidural lombo-sacra por via intra-óssea e mielografia em cães

A comparison between the lumbosacral epidural venography by intraosseous way and myelography with lumbar pun-cuntte was made in dogs. Ten dogs, with vertebral marrow compression, were submitted to these techniques using a Shiley Embolectomy Catheter inserted through the lumbosacral articular space until the second or third lumbar vertebra. This technique was performed before and after the inflation of the compression catheter in as alternated way. Radiographic analysis showed that venography is superior to myelography, mainly in the last lumbar vertebrae or when there was a vertebral tumor in the fourth lumbar vertebra. An experimental model of the medulla compressive lesion using the insertion of the embolectomy catheter in the epidural canal demonstrated its efficiency.
