Artificial Intelligence Usage Policy

AUTHORS

Authors must disclose the use of generative AI in scientific writing at the time of manuscript submission. The declaration does not apply to the use of basic tools, such as those employed for grammar, spelling, or reference checking. If there is nothing to declare, no statement is required.

The journal Semina: Exact and Technological Sciences recognizes the potential of AI technologies and tools to assist in the processes of writing, editing, and translation. It is understood that, in the generative context, such tools present biases and generation anomalies inherent to the data, training, and the developed AI model. Therefore, their use must be judicious to avoid ethical and academic issues. The following guideline refers solely to the writing process and does not apply to the use of AI tools for data analysis and insight extraction as part of the research process.

The use of generative AI and AI-assisted technologies in scientific writing must be disclosed through a statement included at the end of the manuscript at the time of submission. This statement will appear in the published work and must be placed in a new section entitled "Declaration of Generative AI and AI-assisted technologies in the writing process", before the reference list. The following template is strongly recommended:

"During the preparation of this work the author(s) used [NAME TOOL / SERVICE] in order to [REASON]. After using this tool/service, the author(s) reviewed and edited the content as needed and take(s) full responsibility for the content of the publication."
