Poetics of the wound and the cut: The black transvestigender embodiment of Luna Souto Ferreira

Abstract

This article proposes a reading of Luna Souto Ferreira’s literary production through a poetics of the wound and the cut, exploring the materialization of Black transvestigender life as techno-subjective craftsmanship. In Mem(orais): poéticas de uma Byxa-Travesty preta de cortes, Luna mobilizes writing as a gesture of embodiment, tensioning the limits of body, language, space, and temporality. Through incisions and tears in the Western teleological narrative, the author operates radical displacements that destabilize colonial and cis-heteronormative ontology. Dialoguing with thinkers such as Jota Mombaça, abigail Campos Leal, and Castiel Vitorino Brasileiro, it becomes evident how Black transvestigender literature establishes new forms of fabulation and resistance, refusing the normativity imposed on time, gender, and history. Thus, it is understood that Luna Ferreira’s poetics performs an (aes)thetic and political insurgency, reconfiguring the very notion of subjectivity by constituting itself in the open space of the wound.
