The purpose of this article is to analyze the contributions of Afrânio Coutinho to Brazilian literature, as well as to introduce his thought about literature as an aesthetic phenomenon. The reason of its development was the scarcity of publications dedicated to this critic and his legacy, left in the work A Literatura no Brasil. This article will bring a major enrichment to the critic and motivate new researchers and literature scholars to study the universe of Afrânio Coutinho, with the texts included inside his monumental work A Literatura no Brasil.Downloads
