Slanted view: the criticism and the false novel of the drought

This article intends to view A Bagaceira as a novel arising from the modernism’s intention to rediscover Brazil based on a perspective of canon review. Opposing the consideration of this novel as a production of the nordestino circle of the drought, the author reflects on the almeidiana narrative symbols structure and the, the historical/literary age in which the novel becomes a part, the comparative processes through which the novel has passed, it also reminds us the relationship of the novel with those conceptions that has surrounded Brazilian Literature for such a long time in regards to its representation of Brazil.Downloads
