Deteriorated city: literary dystopia and ecology in the fiction by Ignácio de Loyola Brandão

The objective of the essay is to discuss the building of the urban space by comparing it to apparent reality of the end of twentieth century, in the novel Não verás país nenhum (1981), by Ignácio de Loyola Brandão. The theoretical perspective adopted is the literary dystopia by Levitas (1990) and Cavalcanti (2006), and of the ecocriticism, developed by Garrard (2006) and Guatarri (1989). I believe that the literary urban space presenting a sociably negative city may be considered a dystopia, for forcingces her citizens to show a higher awareness witt the habitat and the ecology.References
