This paper investigates the macro and microstructures that characterize aviation radiotelephony as a linguistic genre. Considering the predictable resources inherent to specific discourses, this study aims to understand better how this genre works and provide appropriate training courses for Brazilian pilots concerning their discursive performance during the interactions in English with air traffic controllers .
