The aim of this work is to verify whether primary school textbooks - in a sample of seven series - have already assimilated some trends of Brazilian standard language. Four syntax level aspects, which have undergone some changes, have been selected from Portuguese from Portugal (PP) and Portuguese from Brazil (PB) in order to exemplify these trends: speech person system and the implementation of você/vocês; pronoun position - proclisis, mesoclisis and enclitic: trends and fossilization; use of accusative variants - clitics, lexical pronoun and null object; and topic constructions.
