This article presents a study on genetic criticism, with the theoretical support of the peircean semiotics, about the construction process of the book Não Verás País Nenhum written by Ignácio de Loyola Brandão. Having as the starting point of the analysis the writer's work with verbal language, his creative procedures will be emphasized.
