A defesa dos réus nos Autos da Conspiração dos Alfaiates: um estudo argumentativo

Nesse artigo tem-se o objetivo de apresentar um recorte da argumentação na transcrição da defesa dos réus, elaborada pelo Bacharel Jozê Barboza de Oliveira, que figura nos Autos da Conspiração dos Alfaiates (1798). Esse trabalho está vinculado ao projeto "Argumentação, práticas discursivas e poder" e nele são articulados pressupostos teóricos da Nova Retórica de Perelman e Olbrechts-Tyteca, dos trabalhos sobre o ethos de Maingueneau e dos trabalhos sobre o páthos de Santana Neto. A partir da análise realizada sobre a utilização do ethos e do páthos, chega-se à conclusão de que a argumentação é a síntese que congrega a tríade retórica.
