Representation of Information in the Metaverse

Objective: This article presents the context of a society that is constantly changing due to globalization and the expansion of the Metaverse, a growing virtual environment where people interact as avatars. It also discusses the relationship between information, knowledge, and representation.
Methodology: Information is analyzed as an object of Information Science, which encompasses the description, representation, and organization of content. Knowledge is achieved through the assimilation of information and depends on individual perception. Representation involves the use of symbolic elements to replace objects or ideas.
Results: The Internet and Cyberspace manifest themselves as key elements for the emergence of the Metaverse, which is a virtual world based on augmented reality. The Metaverse was developed and expanded through the participation of large companies, offering immersive and interactive experiences to its users. The characteristics of the Metaverse in relation to information representation are highlighted.
Conclusion: The article concludes that the Metaverse brings elements similar to the physical environment, transforming it into a form of digital life.
