MALE REPRESENTATION ON PROJETO CHICOS
DOI:

This essay aims to study three images produced by the photographers Fábio Lamounier and Rodrigo Ladeira, responsible for the creation and maintenance of Projeto Chicos – a textual, audiovisual and iconographic production of male nudes that records narratives, images, and experiences of men who are genders and/or sexually dissidents. The objective is, therefore, to present and discuss how these three photographs dialogue with the Canon and norms of the representation of the naked male body in the History of Art. Therefore, this essay is conceptually supported by Kenneth Clark's discussions about the Nude, Griselda Pollock's discussions about the Canon in Art History, and Christine Mitchell Havelock's notes about the ideological biases present in this Canon.
