Abstract

This study explores civil and environmental liability of public service companies, particularly, electric energy concessionaires. In order to research this topic, this paper utilizes literature review of normative, jurisprudential and scholarly works; therefore, promoting critical-deductive reasoning. From this sense, the need for energy should be seen as a fundamental right, whilst Brazil should also focus on the challenges of environmental protection. Moreover, there should be environmental liability if any energy provision causes environmental harm.
