This paper presents a reading of realities constructed by the narrator and the characters in scenes suspended in time in the novel Purgatory of Tomáz Eloy Martínez, leading us to diverse dynamics between images; to articulations among the visible, the imaginary and the imagined; to the overlap of memory and everyday life. From these experiences, we think of different propositions to exist between - between worlds, realities, countries and times; experienced by the characters from the dictatorship in Argentine in the 1970s to calm New Jersey of the 2000s. In a pungent way, Purgatory, by Dante, and cartography, mark the fiction by Martínez, presenting possible flows for the existence of lost or missing people. We will make use of theoretical contribution of photography (Boris Kossoy and Ronaldo Entler, among others), to propose a dip in symbolic possibilities of images in narratives as an extra challenge for our reading of literature as photographyDownloads
