“Newspaper” is a common word in Carlos Drummond de Andrade’s poetry. Furthermore, in various ways, the writer retook press reports in his poems. Taking this into account, this paper discusses the relations between the journalistic writing practiced by Drummond and his poetry. To achieve this goal, I analyze the different forms of this approach, from the “press poems” published in Alguma poesia to the poetic chronicles collected in Versiprosa. These perusals will be enriched by press documents and essays where the main critics of Drummond’s writing have reflected upon the issue.Downloads
