Abstract

This paper proposes an analysis of the translation of the novel Crime and Punishment written by Russian Fyodor Dostoyevsky (1827 - 1881) to the film Nina (2004), by Brazilian Heitor Dhalia, noting how the film updates the reading of literary texts transposing it to a post-modern context and to form a hybrid film. This is a comparative study which aims to investigate the changes of signs operated by the translation and especially the production of meaning that these changes imply.
