The aim of this work is to show how an intersemiotic dialogue between narrative and painting is constituted in the book Em torno de um jarro (1999), written by Edmundo de Oliveira Gaudêncio. Based on the intersemiotic assumptions on translation, this work provides evidences of that the incorporation of the written/verbal code to the pictorial/ visual one, and also the inverse process provides a double recreation – the one of the aesthetic object and the lost childhood, an archetype of simple happiness – through such an inventive process that it cannot be analyzed by the concept of the loss/gain dichotomy.Downloads
