Hero, “Epic”, National identity, Post colonialismAbstract
From the concept of “epic” and the multiple discourses this literary gender produces, this text ponders about the hero and the discourses about him in O Guesa, by Sousândrade, and Pão e Fonema, by Corsino Fortes, and the different contexts that emerge from them. We also intend to study how a Brazilian Indian and Cape Verdian natives have become allegories of personal identities that represent national ones, and from post colonial theories on to observe new possibilities of representing history and fiction.Downloads
