The present article intends to establish some confluences among texts by Luiz Gama and Maria Firmina Reis, published in the 1800s and its reflection on two novels by Afro-Brazilian Conceição Evaristo. From a humanistic perspective, these texts are analyzed and their similarities were highlighted, especially concerning the treatment provided to blacks and to female characters, underlining the debate about the literatures produced by the so-called minorities.References
