A little town's history reveals lots of versions told by the narrators from Javé. The film Narradores de Javé, directed by Eliane Caffé, is based on a narratives' net, which appears as a strong discursive mark. Metz (2004), theorist of filmic semiology, affirms that narrative is basically a system of temporal transformations. This article aims to discuss how the construction of the narratives (and, as a result, of the various temporalities) is configured in this filmic piece. The support for this job can be found in ideas about time and narrative, developed by Benveniste (1989), Metz (2004), Nunes (1988) and Ricoeur (1995).
