This paper sets out both to analyse and describe the range of responses to the ALiB Phonetic-Phonological Questionnaire, as given by informants from 25 capital cities in Brazil. The focus is the analysis of non-answers in light of both diatopic (geographic region and location) and diastrastic variables (gender, age, and level of schooling). Few studies on the theme have been carried out; however the topic is one of the great concerns of the researcher, especially in the cartography of the data. We thus aim at contributing to a deepening of discussions on methodological procedures adopted in geolinguistics research.
