Based on Greimas’s semiotic theory, the aim of this work is to analyze the poem “Adormecida” by Castro Alves, taking into account the three levels of the generative trajectory of meaning: fundamental, narrative and discursive. We also discuss the text segmentation strategy used in the Lexical Fields, a methodology developed by Georges Maurand. According to the findings, we highlight that “Adormecida” presents an important semantic opposition between seduction versus purity which can be observed throughout the poem.Downloads
