Possui graduação em Farmácia Bioquímica pela Universidade Estadual de Londrina (1974) e doutorado em Ciência de Alimentos pela Universidade Estadual de Londrina (1995) . Atualmente é Professor Associado da Universidade Estadual de Londrina. Tem experiência na área de Bioquímica , com ênfase em Bioquímica dos Microorganismos. Atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: Ácido lático, Silagem, Fermentação lática.
