Abstract

A population study of insects in wheat was conducted in the Londrina, Pr. area during the 1985 growing season with the objective of determining the effects of meteorological factors and Maneb fungicide on the populations of some of these species. 27 species (5 orders) were collected. Analysis of data demonstrated: I - the species collected in most numbers (decreasing order) were: Diabrotica speciosa, Chrysopa sp., Eriopis connexa, Nabis capsiformis, Allograpta spp., Cycloneda sanguínea, Scymnus (Pullus) sp., Nezara viridula, Megalotomus sp., Hyperaspis festiva and Collaria scenica; II- the population densities of 4 species were probably reduced by Maneb; III - 6 species had correlation of population size with temperature and relative humidity.
