Journal History
História & Ensino has been published since 1995. It was originally affiliated with the Laboratory for History Teaching (Laboratório de Ensino de História). The journal was founded by Professor Marlene Cainelli, Ph.D., retired professor of the Department of History at the Universidade Estadual de Londrina (UEL). It was the first scholarly journal in Brazil dedicated to History teaching.
Initially, the journal was intended for undergraduate History students and History teachers working in elementary and secondary education. Throughout its history, it has become an important vehicle for disseminating research on History teaching while maintaining a forum for dialogue among the three educational levels.
História & Ensino was formerly part of the activities of the History Teaching Laboratory Extension Program (Programa de Extensão Laboratório de Ensino de História) and is currently affiliated with the Graduate Program in Social History, within the Research Line in History Teaching and Public History.
Initially in print format, the journal is currently published exclusively in digital media, a format implemented as of 2010.
