Abstract

This article seeks to converge the ideas established by Marshall McLuhan and Roland Barthes, theorists of photography and oriental art. It is providing subsidies to an understanding of the punctum - defined by Barthes as something that comes from the framework of its beholder photo challenge – the Barthes reflections on poetry, notably the Japanese haiku, one of the obsessions of this semiologist from the mcluhian classification paradigm, which believes that the media and the arts can be taken as “hot media” and “cold media”.
