The general objective of this article is to understand how Veja magazine covered Eastern Europe during the collapse of the Soviet bloc, between 1989 and 1992. During the journalistic coverage, Veja sought to outline and predict a future scenario for the countries. The magazine exposed and defended different solutions and capitalist measures for People's Democracies and the USSR (Union of Soviet Socialist Republics). Therefore, the methodology used will be to analyze the subjects that characterized the economic transition of Eastern Europe. The mapping of sources and the selection of stories and articles from Veja resulted in thematic clippings, which revolved around the main countries that had the most stories and reports published by the magazine, such as: Poland, Hungary, East Germany and the USSR. Veja's articles about this part of Europe had news and reports that brought journalistic summaries about the period and a general panorama about the political and economic conjuncture of the countries.
