From the 1980s, the use of different languages in the classroom has to be defended by researchers to rethink the teaching of history. Thus, the image gained more space in the proposed teaching, serving as evidence in the past. From this perspective, we propose a reflection on the use of the photographic image as a document and historical source document in the school. Given the assumption that the reading of the image allows the construction of historical school knowledge, we look at the writing of students in elementary and high public schools of the Paraná state, and the organization of historical knowledge in their cognitive structures, through pedagogical activity mediated by the use of photographic images of the first government of Getúlio Vargas (1930-1945).Downloads
