Governança Editorial
Advances in Nursing and Health (ANH) adopts an editorial governance structure based on the principles of scientific independence, transparency, ethics, integrity, institutional accountability, and continuous improvement of editorial quality.
The journal's governance aims to ensure that manuscript evaluation, selection, and publication processes are conducted impartially, based on scientific merit, methodological rigor, originality, and the relevance of contributions to Nursing and Health Sciences.
1. Editorial Governance Structure
The editorial structure of ANH comprises:
-
Editor-in-Chief: responsible for the journal's scientific leadership, definition of editorial guidelines, supervision of editorial processes, institutional representation, and final decisions on manuscripts.
-
Associate Editors: responsible for the scientific and technical management of manuscript evaluation, reviewer selection, monitoring of revisions, and editorial recommendations.
-
National and International Editorial Boards: scientific and advisory bodies that contribute to the journal's development, improvement of editorial policies, internationalization, and expansion of academic collaboration networks.
-
Ad hoc Reviewers: specialists who contribute to the scientific evaluation of manuscripts, observing confidentiality, impartiality, independence, ethics, and scientific rigor.
- Technical Team: responsible for technical support for editorial activities and the processes required for scientific publication.
2. Editorial Independence
Editorial decisions at ANH are based exclusively on the scientific merit of manuscripts, respecting the principles of autonomy, impartiality, and academic integrity.
The State University of Londrina, as the supporting institution, respects the scientific autonomy of the Editorial Office.
Editorial decisions shall not be subject to institutional, political, religious, economic, commercial, or personal interference.
3. Management of Conflicts of Interest
All members of the editorial structure must disclose actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest that may compromise their impartiality.
When a conflict of interest involving an editor is identified, the manuscript must be assigned to another independent editor, without the participation of the conflicted editor.
Disclosed conflicts will be handled ethically, confidentially, and transparently, in accordance with the journal's scientific integrity policies.
4. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
ANH recognizes that diversity strengthens scientific quality and broadens the representation of the academic community.
In composing its editorial structure, the journal values institutional, geographical, scientific, cultural, ethnic, racial, and gender diversity, as well as the participation of researchers at different stages of their academic careers.
The journal encourages the participation of researchers from different regions of Brazil and international institutions, promoting scientific plurality and internationalization.
5. Editorial Continuity and Succession
The replacement of editorial team members must follow transparent criteria, considering scientific experience, academic production, editorial commitment, and ethical conduct.
This policy aims to ensure institutional continuity, stability of editorial processes, and the ongoing strengthening of the journal.
6. Editorial Transparency and Quality
ANH provides for the periodic disclosure of editorial performance indicators, including the number of submissions, acceptance rate, average time to first decision, average time to publication, geographical distribution of authors, and reviewer participation.
The publication of these indicators contributes to transparency, accountability, and monitoring of the journal's development.
7. Professional Development and Continuous Improvement
The journal encourages the ongoing professional development of its editorial team through courses, events, training programs, and initiatives related to scientific editing, scholarly communication, Open Science, and research integrity.
ANH's editorial governance is guided by its commitment to academic excellence, institutional responsibility, and the continuous improvement of scientific publishing processes.
