Abstract

Revolving around the lover couple Pedro and Inês, this article proposes a discussion about the place taken by saudade, as a theme and a matter, in contemporary Portugal’s cultural and literary imaginary, starting from the combination of several statements featured in the critic and literary production, made by, namely, Eduardo Lourenço and Nuno Júdice.

Master and PhD from the Universidade Estadual de Campinas. Associate professor in the Department of Literature and Linguistics at the Universidade Federal do Paraná, in the area of Portuguese Literature.
