This study addresses the visual relationship of the tale José Matias of Eça de Queirós and Impressionist aesthetic. Umberto Eco, in Obra Aberta argues that “instead of defining the relationship, rather than the result, the process instead of the event, the probability” (ECO, 2005). Realism and Impressionism schools are contemporary and have as its major representatives, Eça de Queirós and Claude Monet. We intend to demonstrate the possible relations between the tale of Eça and the Monet screen Gladioli, analyzing the corresponding imagery training between text and painting through the colors used to create the atmosphere that directly affects the senses.Downloads
