With this study on the play Mário ou Eu -self - O Outro, by José Régio, we propose to analyze the intertextual references that make up such a dramatic text. By analyzing the life and work of Mário de Sá-Carneiro, who was honored by Régio in this drama, we attest that the Regian theatrical text seeks to re-elaborate the real episode of Sá-Carneiro's suicide and, on the other hand, take a critical approach to both the production of Orpheu's poet as well as his own literature.Downloads
