Graciliano Ramos and the experience of orality in Infância

This article will focus on the cultural horizon of the protagonist's original social environment, whose low literacy condition receives important influences from orality ostensibly present in the daily life of the Northeastern man of the transition period between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. I will proceed to a census of the oral elements present in the original cultural field, and then show the Boy's first contacts with writing, showing the subsidies that Graciliano inherits from his cultural background.References
