Abstract

This text presents a survey of the lexicon and regional toponymy with a 'tupi' basis in the region of Castro. The purpose is to record traces of 'tupisms' in the oral language, linking them to the sociohistorical data of that region.

Doutora em Letras pela Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (UNESP), defendendo a tese intitulada "Atlas Lingüístico do Paraná". Professora da Universidade Estadual de Londrina e coordenadora do projeto de pesquisa "Atlas Linguístico do Brasil".
