This essay presents the results of screening texts related to the fossilization of errors in second language / foreign language (L2/FL), the linguistic phenomenon that refers to the regular reappearance of linguistic structures that do not correspond to the object language (OL) produced by L2 learners and that are rooted in the inter-language (IL) of students. The intention to bring to light these considerations is due to the fact that the phenomenon is regarded as one of the main features of Inter-language, a feature of the acquisition and learning of L2/FL, not taking place in the acquisition of the mother tongue / first language (MT / L1) and, above all, because fossilization has the virtue to act as a blocker of the expected progression or fluid production in this OL.
