Abstract

This study searches, in the first published linguistic atlases and in the latest geolinguistic studies in four distinct regions (Adrianópolis-PR, Litoral Sul Paulista, Ilha de Marajó-PA e Ponta Porã - MS), to verify the importance of linguistic atlases to assist in understanding the sociohistory of Brazilian Portuguese.

Possui graduação em Letras Franco Portuguesas pela Universidade Estadual de Londrina (1969), mestrado em Letras Assis pela Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (1987), doutorado em Letras pela Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (1990) e pós-doutorado na Universidade de Alcalá de Henares- Espanha. Atualmente é associado da Universidade Estadual de Londrina.
