This study searches, in the first published linguistic atlases and in the latest geolinguistic studies in four distinct regions (Adrianópolis-PR, Litoral Sul Paulista, Ilha de Marajó-PA e Ponta Porã - MS), to verify the importance of linguistic atlases to assist in understanding the sociohistory of Brazilian Portuguese.
