This research analyzes the use of vibrants in popular speech at Cândido de Abreu city (Paraná - Brazil), in the central part of Paraná state, which is a transition geographic area of archiphoneme /R/ realizations. This study will try to investigate the linguistic and social conditionants of this phenomenon of variation as well as its diatopic distribution.Downloads
