Taking in account the problematic of national identity in a discursive perspective (PÊCHEUX, 1988; ORLANDI, 1999), this paper aims to reflect upon two essays collections Nenhum Brasil existe and Intérpretes do Brasil, establishing connections among three process of language production in the anthology: its constitution (memory discourse, interdiscourse), formulation (textualization of anthology) and the ways of circulation in the society. In this case, we examined the relationship between linguistic and discoursive materiality in the domain of formulation and circulation when we were confronted with the organization of these collections, considering the implications concerned with anthologies understood like a discursive genre.
