The new curricula for de teaching of english in the state scholl of Londrina

The objective of this paper is to investigate if and how two new curricula for the teaching of English at the elementary and secondary levels are being implemented in 10 state schools of Londrina, Paraná, 29 teachers and 10 coordinators/supervisors were interviewed in the first phase of the data during collection, and 24 teacher’s and 15 coordinators/supervisors during the second phase. The analysis of the data shows that the implementation of the two curricula is not occurring in large scale due to problems caused by an as systematic process of dissemination, teacher preparation, and teacher involvement adopted bye the State government. This study also tries to identify these problems and to suggest means to minimize the consequences the may bring to the teaching of English in the state scholls of Londrina, Paraná.
