Historical narrative as a subject has caught widespread attention lately. Several contemporary theoretical trends make their best in order to supply an original contribution. Here, the intention has been to present the position of Paul Ricoueur within historical narrative controversy, as the heir of phenomenological thought, by drawing up the theoretical fronts where his efforts were joined.
