Abstract

This theoretical essay investigates the relationship between fashion, color, and psychology in shaping identity and emotional regulation. Based on an integrative literature review, it discusses how dressing functions as a symbolic language that mediates between self and world. Contributions from social, analytical, and cognitive psychology are explored, as well as perspectives from the neuropsychology of fashion. Evidence suggests that clothing choices and color perception influence well-being, self-esteem, and social cognition, highlighting the psychological and symbolic power of dressing.
