Abstract

This study deals with the analysis of evolution of the urban transformations in the lots of Vila Casoni, an old district in Londrina. The sucessivel interventions carried out in order to adequate themselves to the programs, called additive transformations, resulted in the gradual formation of villasconsisting of three to seven units in the same lot. Despite the apparent “invisibility”, for they are situated intramurally, the villas have a dense repertoire of spatial organization, articulation of open spaces, hierarchy and definition of patios. Qualities such as conviviality, defensibility allowing safety to the neighbourhood, alternative of horizontal densification, constitute important aspects for the rehabilitation process.
