State and civil society in the history of brazilian welfare policies

The present article discusses the elements that drive welfare policies in Brazil by means of the organization of historical data on welfare policies and social movements in the country. The historical correspondence between both of them was considered the focus of the analysis, highlighting the main events concerning the fights for better life conditions as well as for the increase of social rights in Brazilian legislation.
