The objective of this surrey was to evaluate the losses occurred at harvesting time, by utilization of combines, in soybean crop during 1982/83 growing season, in 30 soybean farms. These farms are located in Cambe, Londrina and Sertanopolis counties, State of Parana. The Volumetric Evaluation Method was used to quantify the losses. This method consists of the utilization of a plastic scaled container, with a diameter of 4.5 cm and 14 cm high. The soybeans left on the ground during harvest and collected from a know area are placed in the container. By correlating volume and weight the soybeans collected show the loss occurred during the operation, in kg/ha. The results show that the average of losses in the farms located in Cambe was 87 kg/ha; in Londrina 106.8 kg/ha and in Sertanopolis 54 kg/ha. The overall average of losses observed in the 30 farms was 84 kg/ha.
